“Que sera, sera—what should happen will happen” has been a phrase I’ve often used to describe how I approach life and work. While it reflects a certain calm acceptance of outcomes, I’ve come to question whether it risks sounding defeatist or submissive.
Instead, I’m reframing it: “I will do and act so it happens.” This subtle shift emphasizes ownership, effort, and action. It’s a reminder that while outcomes may not always be in our control, our persistence and determination play a decisive role in shaping them.
